BIO:
Lorelei came in very pregnant and sick. She had her babies the day she came out of the shelter in AL but sadly out of the 5 two were lost. She had no milk for them so they were bottle fed and she ended up very sick herself and spent the better part of a month in the vet hospital to get her well. She is NOW well and looking for her forever home. Lorelei came from a hoarder situation and is starved for attention. She is an alpha female so will need to go to a home with no other dogs or a home with a male dog. Lorelei is very sweet will sit/lay with you as long as you are resting or will follow you in the house or yard. Because Lorelei had a rough start we want her to go to the best possible home and that would be with someone that is home a lot to continue to help her with her housebreaking, must have a fenced in yard. Shes not un-socialized so visitors would be welcomed by her especially if a treat were offered in your home. Please consider giving Lorelei her last forever home, she deserves it after what shes been though.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal. We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If you choose transporting by either volunteers through our organization or by paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee added for the required Health Certificate. We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this you need to take this up with your legislatures. We are now approved to adopt/foster in the state of NH but adopters will have to pay health certificate fee of $35 once to transport the dog to an approved quarantine facility and then a second fee of $50 to get the dog out of quarantine after two days. The quarantine is a New Hampshire requirement for any animal imported into the state. We cannot negotiate or waive these fees as they are expenses to AADR. To understand the adoption process through AADR please visit the Adoption Information. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3. If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and then you can complete an Application. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
